Big Fish Tennis
When you don't have the time to commit to a regular tennis league schedule or
you can't find truly compatibly rated opponents for a match, do you feel like a
fish out of water?
Big Fish Tennis is local league play on a flexible schedule. Big Fish Tennis now
offers local ponds in 7 areas around the southeast. Check out our current
ponds listed at the top to see if there is a local pond near you! No matter which
pond suits your location, you will certainly enjoy the benefits of Big Fish Tennis.
Our goal is to help you connect with the members of your local tennis
community, enjoy local competition, and help your game to improve by offering
you the most competitive tennis matches you'll find. Fish don't leave their
pond, so players from one pond will not have to play in another pond. All play
will be local. Big Fish Tennis is more than just a flex league. No matter what
you hope to get out of a recreational tennis league, you're in the right place!
Create your FREE player profile today and check out the amazing technology
platform that powers Big Fish Tennis. You can create your profile by clicking
the "Join" link for your pond in the Our Ponds box to the left. Once in the
network you will be a part of the community and begin receiving notifications
of upcoming leagues and opportunities to play in your area.
What other league offers you a dynamic rating that you can see change after
every set you enter? What other league allows all of your matches (league play
& casual match play) to count toward your player rating? What other league
provides separate ratings for singles and doubles and allows you to play at
your correct level for both? What other league can offer you this for only
$18.00 per season? Give Big Fish Tennis a try! We are certain you will be
happy you did.
There are many great things about Big Fish Tennis, but perhaps the best thing
is something unique to Big Fish Tennis. We use the Tencap Rating System.
Tencap ratings are simply the most accurate and specific ratings in
use...anywhere! Not all 4.0 players are created equal, so if two 4.0 players
squared off to play a match, the scores could range from a lopsided 6-0, 6-1
win to a three set battle. It is the same thing for our junior players
(Barracudas). Many times, juniors players are grouped to play based only on
being of similar age. Not all 12 year olds have had similar tennis backgrounds
just as not all 30 year olds have had similar tennis backgrounds. Big Fish
Tennis groups players based on tennis ability and not solely on age. Instead of
having an advanced 12 year old dominate their age division, they would
continue to move up and play against kids that are perhaps 14-16. Competitive
matches are more fun, and Tencap ratings do the best job at matching up
players with similar tennis ability. The Tencap rating scale is for all players
(men, women and junior players). We will work with you using our Self Rate
Assessment tool to help you come to an accurate introductory rating. Then,
you'll be all set to enjoy all of the benefits of Big Fish Tennis!
